Volume and Area of a Cube

Cube

Cube is a shape that all of its length is equal and all its six sides is square. Let's say its length is L.

Lets start from its volume.

Volume of cube is :

That is the formula of cube volume.

Now we will calculate the formula for its area. 

There are six sides that form a cube and all is square. So, to calculate the total area of cube we must find the area of one square that multiply it by six (number of sides).

Area of a square is = L x L = L²        

Total area of cube = 6 x L²   

                            = 6L²

Area    = 6L²
